After nine years this date remains a powerful marker; an indelible memorial of a world changing event. On the anniversary of September 11, 2001 we shudder at the senseless waste of life, a gruesome specter of horror, while we exalt in the display of heroism and valor. Each aspect of this drama creates a vivid contrast of the best and the worst of humanity.

In such a display of good versus evil, when life and death is in the balance, thoughts turn to eternity and the larger purpose of life.

How does the struggle end? Will it end?
